Portrait of Mum Mum by Riley (age 5)

Hi ...thanks for your patience with me.  I have been out of touch for a while but have a few things to share.

I'm so excited and sad to see all of my Grandbeauties off to school.  Preschool to 3rd grade.  I will miss our Mum Mum Thursdays.  Every Thursday over the summer we get together to swim, craft and have
a luncheon tea party.

After one of our Thursday tea parties one of my grandbeauties  (the 5 year old) called me and asked what I was doing.  I had just sat down and was starting a project that I had been looking forward to for a while.  She stated that she was also making her own project and that it might be a good idea if she gave me hers when it was completed and I would give her mine.  Of course I said yes,  I would love that.

I immediately changed the paper and made the project to suit her.
This is what I came up with.
It is a Fairy Whispers Purse with ribbon around the handles.  It is filled with pockets and pages and
tags that she can add her own writing and pictures.

I am delighted with the "portrait of Mum Mum"  project that Riley made for me. and I think she loves the album purse I made for her.    The gifts from the heart are always the greatest gifts of all.

She used water color and my favorite polka dot paper.  I love the eyelashes, the hair and the color she chose for my lipstick.  I hope she always thinks of me with this beautiful smile.

Thank you Riley!

I have another lovely future scrapbooker in the wings that I will feature in a future post.  Stay tuned.

I will be back with a new album to share.  I Hope you will stop back and see what I have been up to.
Wishing you and yours a great start to a new school year.

Coupon Wallet

Woo Hoo ....Finished another fun project ....I feel like I'm getting back into the groove.

*Coupon Wallet
To be used alone or with the Recipe Organizer

I purchased a note pad for a dollar and clipped it inside the wallet organizer to jot down grocery lists

This is what it looks like without the note pad and notice the coupon holder that is velcro closed on the right side of the organizer

When you fold over the note pad there is a pocket on the left  for special coupons, gift certificates, money whatever you like and another pocket in the center.  You can easily store your pen or pencil in the center area.

This is a shot of the organizer with the coupon section open.  The flap closes this section and stays closed with velcro.

This is a cute and fun way to organize your shopping list and keep all your coupons together in one place.

Thanks for looking.  Love to hear your comments and hope you'll visit again soon.

Recipe Organizer

Hi All.......Long time no see.  So much has happened since I wrote last.   My husband has been very ill and just when we thought he was recovered everything went wrong.   He had an aortic aneurism and dissection.    Thank God we both survived this latest episode.  Hopefully he will continue to recover and get back to work and chopping wood and running back and forth upstate.

I haven't been able to craft for weeks and am so excited to share my first project since my last post.
I made this for a shower gift for my nephew's finance.  I heard they are purchasing a wonderful 90 year old home and I think this will look great in their old time refurbished kitchen.

This is the Recipe Organizer

I couldn't put the Tim Holtz feet on the corners that I had planned to keep the box from getting dirty on the bottom because the drawer overlaps the corner so....I came up with the idea to use the bottle caps that you can get anywhere on the bottom of the organizer and they work perfectly.  Just lifted the box enough to keep it clean.  They looked cute on the bottom.

Just a few pictures to show you the Meal Planner

If you lift the lid and place the cherries inside....you have a wonderful rest for the meal planner or whatever recipe you are following.

This is a picture of the box opened all the way up recipes to the right and Meal Planner on the left

I enjoyed making this.  It certainly was a challenge and I will be posting pictures (soon) of the coupon wallet that will go into the drawer.
Thanks for stopping by...love to hear from you.

* Thank you to Kathy Orta for this design

Happy Friday ...Woo Hoo Spring is here.   I don't know how this could be...it was 39 degrees this morning and new snow on the ground.  Thinking of Spring... my son just got word that his bee delivery would be delayed due to cold weather conditions.  He is getting ready to open his bee hives and is getting more bees and more hives this April.   We are all very excited ...  I love honey and it can be used for so many things.  Bees are disappearing all over and any effort to keep them thriving is a wonderful thing.

I decided to use the Close To My Heart Display Tray and the Buzz and Bumble Paper to make a nice wall hanging with the few pictures I have of Tim with the bees.

Just want to show how I used the Close To My Heart Display Tray.
(notice the little metal hooks for hanging)

This is a unique 13" x 13 1/4" x 1" Black display tray for a favorite 12 x 12 cut up scrapbook page.  It is made of wood and it includes hangers so you can hang on any wall.     It is in the catalog on page 125 .  You can  Order # Z1750 or you can click here.

13 x 13 Display Case

This is a 12 x 12 layout cut up to fit the squares..Each square if 4 x 3

Don't look tooo closely...I was so excited to get this set up I haven't glued anything down yet.
I also have to admit that I would have like to grunge it up a bit and do a little more tearing but I know my son likes clean lines so I had to hold back on the decorating.

In this picture you can see some things that are in the  stickease packet (flower) and you can see the Buzz and Bumble paper under the display tray.  Click here for a better view of paper
It comes with the 2 sheets of bees and the sheet of words and flower packets and I chose the words and sections that I thought fit this layout..."Seed package "and the words "flowers" and "shrubs" since the bees are so important to the pollination of flowers and so many of the things we grow to eat.

Cute little charm I picked up was in my stash.

The "B  Happy" and the bees are part of the sitckease package

Check out the rest of this collection here  I love the Bee Stamp!  If you are interested in this collection please go to my website to order.  While you are there check out the other paper lines.  Anyone of them can be used in this lovely display case.

Don't forget when you order $50. you are eligible for the Stamp of the Month for only $5.  And check out the "while supplies last"  You can get great bargains in this section each month.  You can also e-mail me at GingersScraps@gmail.com for a discount on your order.

Thanks for visiting.....and Happy Scrapping.

Little treats

I found these cute little valentine treats in a Family Fun Magazine dated 2010.
These can be used as birthday party treats or cute little give aways.

I checked out my CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge and found these beautiful flowers and leaf...I  just made them in different sizes.   I used the"  I {HEART}You "stamp that came in the  Whooo's your
Valentine kit.  (See earlier post with samples).
I can't mention enough that if you can only own one cartridge....definitely it would be the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  It has a little of everything or anything you will need.

I think these came out very cute.  Great little goodies to hand out to classmates or friends.I stuck
a tootsie roll pop in the center for the stem and the center of the flower.
