Fathers Day - Shutter Window Card

Finallly,  Im back to blogging.  I got my new computer and it is easier to use than my old computer but I have found a there is a big learning curve when switching from a PC to a MAC.   Not so funny is the fact that I posted this earlier today and entered several challenges and when I came back to check on something....the page was gone!!!!!  Mind you the challenges were entered and there was no page to view when you clicked on the link.    I will try this again.
Between taking classes at Apple and working on several projects at home I haven't had too much time to play.  I did however put together this Fathers Day Card with a shutter window inside.

This was fun to make and I am sure will be fun to open.  I made this for a Fathers Day card for my honey.

This is a Shutter Window Card.  See Shutter above

These are the Close to My Heart Super Hero Papers and the Super Hero Rub Ons.  I was delightfully surprised at how vibrant the rub ons are even on a dark paper.  I will be making up card kits if anyone is interested.  You can purchase this paper here
Please check out my Events page for the next gathering in my home.

I have entered this card in the following challenges:
Creative Craft Challenges Patriotic Color Challenge
Stampin Royalty Must be Masculine Challenge #126
My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge   Red, White and Blue Challenge #59

I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. I plan to relax and enjoy and catch up this weeked .

I have just a very simple banner that I put together in no time at all using just the Art Philosophy Cartridge
and some pink paper that I had a few pieces of.  The only embellishments are the crystal glass from Martha steward's collection and  the flowers, butterflies and banner pieces all from the AP Cartridge.  Ribbon and the jewels on the side  I picked up at Michael a while back...I just love poka dots.

This is a very simple and fast project.

Have a great weekend.

Wedding or Anniversary

Thought I would try something a little different and I came up with this lovely pennent card.  Perfect for a Wedding or a Wedding Anniversary. The paper is CTMH Pemberly Paper Packet.    I used the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge exclusive to Close To My Heart for the flowers and leaves. You can purchase it Here.  The lace was made using  a Martha Steward punch, Ribbon from a spool in my stash.  I took baby's breathe that I dried and poked it around the roses to give it a wedding effect.

Below is a peek at the inside.

I used the Spellbinders Nestibilities Labels Thirteen for the back and Fancy Tags Three for the sentiment.  I didn't have a stamp for the sentiment so I made one up on the computer.  Check out Tips and Techniques to see how I did that.

I am entering the following challenges

Frame Art Philosophy Cartridge

I made this card using the CTMH Stella Paper . I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for the frame, the butterfly the flower and the  leaves.  I love the way the flower turned out.  The sentiment is from Clear Art Stamps. I took out my sewing machine (its been sitting for many years) and sewed around the bottom paper.  I can do it!  I will be trying this again.

I will be entering this in the following challenge

April Showers bring May flowers

April Showers bring May flowers!
This would be perfect for bridesmaids, flower girls, wedding or baby shower centerpieces or to make your Mother smile on Mothers Day.

I used the Close To My Heart "Lucy" patterned paper and cut out the flowers with the cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  I think these flowers look beautiful.  The pattern on the paper gives the roses a realistic look with all the color variations. I was so excited at the way this turned out that I couldn't wait to put it up.  Check out my Tips and Techniques Page for directions and a picture tutorial.
* If anyone would like this cartridge or  the Lucy paper in a hurry for Mothers Day I do have one set here that is available. Just e-mail me at GingersScraps@gmail.com  and I can get it to you a.s.a.p.
Hope this will inspire you to make your own.  Thanks for stopping by.

Our Greatest Treasure

Its a beautiful sunnny day today a nice change after several rainy and overcast days.. The pool people were here already to see what we need to get the pool opened this summer.  This has me thinking about sprucing up the yard, shopping for bathing suits and getting our beach permit.    No, I think I'll scrap.  This is a layout I made using my Close To My Heart Foot Loose Paper Packet.  Just looking at this paper inspires summer thoughts.

Last summer we went to the beach with our son and daughter (in-law) and our two little grandbeauties.  Pop Pop and the girls had so much fun hunting for treasures that came in with the waves and were buried deep into the sand.   Little do  they know........

Our grandbeauties are our Greatest Treasure.

This is a layout I made using the Footloose Paper Packet From Close To My Heart.

Flowers

Stamp of the Month

Today is May 1.    "May Day" or Mary's Day may be best know for its tradition of dancing the maypole dance and crowning the Queen of the May.  It was the Festival of Flowers..  As children we would pick the violets and lilies of the valley from the garden for my Mother and Grandmother.  This day brings back wonderful memories.

I am delighted to tell you about May's new Stamp of the Month.  It is beautiful and fits in perfectly with my May Day memories.     Is there anything more beautiful and welcoming than a  Sunflower.  The  name of this stamp is Friendship Bouquet

This stamp set also includes the phrases
Treasured Friend, thanks so much, your friendship means so much to me and Plant a seed of friendship ;reap a bouquet of happiness.

.  I think this stamp is absolutely gorgeous.  Go to the Idea Book to see the complete image and the beautiful stamps that speak of friendship.
You can get this stamp for $17.95 or or just $5 with a $50 purchase from the catalog

This stamp can be used in so many different ways.  I just love it!

I hope you have a wonderful May Day and keep this beautiful tradition of sharing a flower with a beautiful woman in your life..  Thanks for stopping by....
